On my journey into the world of cybersecurity, I've been lucky enough to discover several organizations that have not only helped my understanding of this complex field but also played a pivotal role in shaping the skills of many others in the community. This adventure, filled with both challenges and thrilling revelations, introduced me to a huge amount of knowledge that have enriched my path and those of aspiring cyber warriors like me. It's essential to acknowledge that my relationship with these organizations is built on a foundation of appreciation and respect, with no formal ties binding us. These invaluable resources have been instrumental in guiding me not just to learn new skills but providing me with a path to where I want to be in the future. It this post I want to share a few of the resources that continue to help me during this journey.

TryHackMe

TryHackMe stands as a beacon for both entry and expert professionals in the cybersecurity industry. As the first platform I engaged with during and post-bootcamp, TryHackMe offers, a gamified learning environment tailored to various cybersecurity disciplines. With a lot content for both Blue Team and Red Team enthusiasts, the platform ensures a balanced approach to learning. Through hands-on virtual labs, learners can dive into realistic scenarios, in a controlled, interactive setting. TryHackMe's commitment to making cybersecurity accessible is evident in their structured pathways, which guide users from fundamental concepts to advanced techniques. While a significant portion of TryHackMe's content is accessible for free, they also offer a subscription model for users looking for more in-depth learning tools and resources. I would highly incourage you to check them out.

Professor Messer

Professor Messer provides cybersecurity education on YouTube, especially for those preparing for CompTIA certifications. His channel was instrumental in helping me pass the CompTIA Security+ certification. With a wealth of content ranging from detailed video tutorials to live study groups, Professor Messer breaks down complex topics with clarity and precision. His dedication to providing free, high-quality educational material makes cybersecurity certification attainable for anyone with an internet connection.

HackTheBox

HackTheBox takes the challenge of cybersecurity education and turns it into an exhilarating journey of discovery and accomplishment. Utilizing the HackTheBox Academy, I was able to deepen my expertise in web application security analysis and penetration testing. HackTheBox distinguishes itself with a more self-directed learning approach, offering minimal guidance to encourage problem-solving and independent exploration. This platform is ideal for those ready to test their mettle against real-world-like scenarios.

The Cyber Mentor (TCM)

The Cyber Mentor, or TCM, has been a guiding light in my pursuit of knowledge in web app pentesting, network pentesting, and mobile pentesting, among other areas. TCM's courses are designed to help learners at different stages of their cybersecurity careers, from beginners to advanced practitioners. The practical, hands-on approach adopted in TCM's teachings ensures that learners not only understand theoretical concepts but can also apply them effectively in real-world situations. I have several of their courses that helped and continue to help me on my daily bases. But I really enjoy the Mobile Application Penetration Testing, and Practical Web Application Security and Testing.

APISec University

APISec University, If you want to learn about API from securing to pentesting you need to learn here! Offering comprehensive content for free, APISec University is an exceptional platform for cybersecurity enthusiasts, security researchers, and developers alike. The focus on API security is particularly relevant given the increasing integration of APIs in modern applications, making this knowledge indispensable for securing contemporary tech ecosystems.

Antisiphon Training

Antisiphon Training is remarkable for its commitment to offering free to low-cost live classes that are rich in content and practical knowledge. I was luck enough to win a spot in their 4-day SOC live class, and it was a transformative experience for me, providing insights and hands-on training based on real SOC analyst work. Antisiphon Training's live classes bring together the theoretical and practical aspects of cybersecurity, facilitated by experienced professionals in the field.

RangeForce

RangeForce offers an interactive cybersecurity skills development platform that operationalizes hands-on training and team-based exercises. It's designed for individual and team cyber readiness, featuring over 1000 on-demand modules, challenges, and custom learning paths across various tiers. The platform focuses on practical skills in defending against and responding to cyber threats, with content ranging from basic cybersecurity fundamentals to advanced threat handling and response strategies. Right after completing my Bootcamp I used this platform a lot. But my passion about hacking and trying to break applications took me into a different Path.

PortSwigger Academy

PortSwigger Web Security Academy is my go to 90% of the time. I am passionate about hacking and PortSwigger offers a free online training in web application security, designed for a range of skill levels. It includes interactive labs and educational content on vulnerabilities like SQL injection, XSS, CSRF, and more. The platform is continuously updated by cybersecurity experts, including the author of "The Web Application Hacker's Handbook" making it a valuable resource for those looking to enter cybersecurity, enhance their skills, or pursue careers in ethical hacking and penetration testing
